Unfortunately, no matter what configuration of keys I've tried, CloneHero would outright ignore the intercepted key strokes and recognize the actual keys pressed, thus denying the ability to press Start on a second keyboard and having CloneHero detect it as a new player. So I've figured, I need something that creates a virtual device, so CloneHero will recognize that keyboard as a device different from the other connected keyboards.Īs you might know, when you connect multiple keyboards, the OS usually doesn't really distinguish them, but rather treat all keys pressed, no matter from which keyboard, as plain key presses. A working solution to creating a virtual device turned out to be this vJoy Virtual Controller software.
#Clone hero system of a down album softwareįirst, download and install the Virtual Controller software from SourceForge. Click the Assign buttons next to the relevant xBox button to set a keyboard key for it. I've marked the 5 colored frets, the start and select buttons, and the strum up and strum down buttons. Take note that most normal keyboards have an issue called Key Ghosting. It's explained in the CloneHero FAQ, but basically if holding two specific keys doesn't work for you, you need to come back to this screen and try mapping different keys, until you've hit a combo of keys that works good enough together. By default, the first detected XBOX controller will be assigned to the first player with a keyboard, so basically by default player 1 will get both his keyboard and the second keyboard you've set up. To fix this, under Player 1, click the 'Remove Controller' button. Then, click the Player 2 button, and click the 'Assign Controller' button. Just to make things clear, I did not create the Virtual Controller software, but I appreciate it very much as an excellent solution to this use case.

You’re just hurting yourself.”ĭolmayan believes the only way forward is for his bandmates to take his advice and “put everything to the side” and “not care about where the music comes from, or who wrote the lyrics, or what this person did in the past.” “We have this gift, right, that came from God or wherever, and we’re squandering it… That’s like the worst having the ability to do something and not doing it is, I think, the worst thing in the world as far as in the perspective of being an artist. He continued: “Obviously we still have something to give to the world,” the drummer continues. “We barely tour, we don’t do interviews, we don’t do press, we’re almost completely sundered from the music business and yet we have more and more efforts to play every year.” “We haven’t made an album since 2005,” he elaborated. The drummer made the remarks in a YouTube interview with Sona Oganesyan, stating that SOAD “have become more and more successful in spite of our best efforts to ruin it.” If fans were hoping the two tracks would lead to a new album, Dolmayan’s comments insinuate that won’t be happening anytime soon.
In late 2020, SOAD surprise released the singles “Protect the Land” and “Genocidal Humanoidz,” marking their first new songs in 15 years.
